Ukulele Hearts by rain-and-sunshine
Ukulele Hearts
Because thanks to my boyfriend I have recently become a hardcore Steven Universe fan and felt the need to draw some psychotically colored fanart.

Seriously though, it's a really good show. Every episode is so satisfying...after watching a lot of live-action American tv dramas, it's refreshing to watch something where the parent/child relationship is super healthy and the main character is completely genuine and well-meaning all the time. If you like Gravity Falls you should definitely check it out.

To be perfectly honest I did not like Frozen very much, but because it does have such a huge following I thought it deserved a place in the Fandom Alphabet. I suppose it also serves to represent Disney films in general, which was definitely necessary.

More letters hopefully coming soon! The alphabet is more than half complete -- check out my gallery for more letters!

W is for Winter is Coming by rain-and-sunshine
W is for Winter is Coming
So I skipped a whole bunch of letters to get to W...

I'll do the letter I eventually. I promise.

Some people commented that the W looks too much like the Starks' symbol, but that was unintentional -- I was just trying to copy the typography style of the Game of Thrones logo ^^;

NO SPOILERS PLEASE, I haven't watched the new season yet!!

WOW! I apologize for the absence of uploads and updates these past months!

I recently got a new part-time position as a social media promoter for an American manga publisher, and have also been doing more Japanese-English translating work than before both for the Huffington Post and for GEN Manga.
I'll leave links below to the articles and books I've been working on!

I still have a variety of art projects going on (including a prospective large mural), but have not had time as of late to get much uploaded onto any of my sites. Unfortunately, due to the time consuming nature of my other work at the moment, Farewell Feeling is on a hiatus.

I hope you will continue to watch and follow me here and on my Tumblr website as I am trying to return to having more of an online presence again. I may even revive my Twitter soon! It's a new year; anything is possible!

As promised, here are the links to the Huffington articles I translated:

1) Japan in the aftermath of the tsunami: www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12…
2) Unusual recipes for using extra mochi: www.huffingtonpost.com/recipe-…
3) The giant old man in Japan's sky: www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/12…
4) Cat learns to use a toilet: www.huffingtonpost.com/2014/11…

And these are the GEN Manga books I have been working on:

1) Anomal: genmanga.com/books/anomal/inde…
2) Kamen 02: genmanga.com/books/kamen_v2/in…
3) Stones of Power: genmanga.com/books/stonesofpow…

Some of my work for GEN Manga (such as their online-only Eden series) has not yet been put into print form but can be read on genmanga.com.

The usual links for commission information and classes are still below; and I am still available for both if you or someone you know is interested!

Thank you for your patience, and I hope you are all having a fabulous 2015 so far.

(Also: I am going to try and go through my backed up dA messages soon, but if you wrote to me and never heard back please feel free to poke me again or (more direct and sure to get a reply) email me at lilyhanamail@gmail.com! )

sure!

nice drawing :) I guess my advice to you would be to try varying your line thickness a bit more. make darker lines around parts of her eyes, in places in her kimono collar that might have shadows, etc. and it will help her face stand out more.

is this pencil?

Yes its pencil. (I drew most of it at school.) I didn't know whether or not to make the eye lines very dark like in other anime's or keep it thin so I could erase it easyer. And when you say darken the lines in parts of her eyes, do you also mean in the pupil?

I'm still working on shadows...
